James Martin's Two-Word Response to Actor Who Insulted His Cooking
James Martin's Two-Word Reply to Actor's Cooking Insult

TV chef James Martin had a blunt two-word response for actor Will Mellor after Mellor insulted his cooking during an appearance on James Martin's Saturday Morning. The exchange, which left co-star Ralf Little in hysterics, was revealed on The Two Pints Podcast.

Prawns with Heads On Spark Critique

Ralf Little, 46, explained that Martin was preparing prawns and squid on a wood-fired oven, but Mellor was put off by the prawns still having their heads attached. Little recounted: 'James is this very successful chef, very talented chef, and he's making us prawns, with their heads on, prawns and squid on a wood fire grill right there in front of us.'

After a brief camera break, the wood grill started smoking, and Mellor whispered to Little off-camera: 'He's made a f***ing balls of those prawns hasn't he. Burnt to f*** they are.'

Chef's Retort: 'Grow Up'

When Mellor voiced his concerns directly to Martin, the chef responded sharply. Mellor, 50, said: 'What about what he said about the prawns? I said: "I don't like their heads on." He went: "Grow up."'

Despite the exchange, both actors described Martin as 'a great guy' and 'a top guy.' Little admitted he was laughing so hard that TV crew needed to bring in makeup to fix his eyes from crying.

Rice Cooking Advice Adds to Comedy

Little added that later, during the show, Martin demonstrated how to cook rice, saying: 'It's easy. You just do one part rice, to four parts water.' Mellor then asked: 'What's a part?' which sent Little into further fits of laughter.

James Martin's Saturday Morning airs on ITV Saturdays from 9.30am to 12.05pm. Martin, 53, took over as host of Saturday Kitchen in 2006 and launched his ITV show in 2017 after leaving the BBC.
