Singer-songwriter James Blunt is among the famous faces taking part in the new series of The Celebrity Traitors on BBC One. The 52-year-old, known for the 2005 hit "You're Beautiful," has been selected as a Faithful in the show, which sees celebrities move into a Scottish castle under the watch of host Claudia Winkleman.
The first two episodes of the second series aired this week, featuring contestants including Love Island presenter Maya Jama, model Jerry Hall, and former EastEnders actor Ross Kemp. The programme follows last year's inaugural series, which saw comedian Alan Carr win as a Traitor without being detected.
Famous clapbacks resurface
While many celebrities ignore social media critics, James Blunt is known for responding with witty retorts. An X user shared some of his favourite responses, saying: "Every time I see James Blunt I think about his clap back tweets, clocks every time."
In one exchange, a user wrote: "I broke up with my girlfriend because she likes your music. She's obviously deaf." James replied: "If she was your girlfriend she was probably blind as well."
Another user said: "If it wasn't for Twitter everyone would've forgot about @JamesBlunt tbh!" James responded: "And the most relevant you'll ever be is that one time James Blunt tweeted you."
Joining in on the jokes
James also participates in criticism of his own music. When someone tweeted: "My favourite thing to do at gigs is to sing really loud but badly so that people who film all the songs have their videos ruined," James replied: "Been doing this for years."
He also responded to a tweet questioning a "best of" compilation, saying: "Yup, it's called 'Greatest Hit'."
James has kept a low profile in the castle so far, but fans will be watching to see if he deploys his trademark clapbacks as the series progresses. The show airs on BBC One on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm, with the finale scheduled for Friday, October 30.
