Love Island Australia star Trent Woolman has been airlifted to hospital after falling into a bonfire and becoming stuck in the flames while cleaning his sister's countryside property in Inverleigh, Victoria.
The 28-year-old suffered burns to his arms, mouth and airways and was forced to crawl back to his sister's house after getting stuck in the fire. Doctors later discovered multiple brain bleeds and a cyst on his brain, which delayed a surgical skin graft to repair the damage to his arms.
Two Weeks in Hospital
Speaking to the Daily Mail after two weeks in hospital, Trent described the incident as the “worst time” of his life. He said: “I got stuck on the fire and got off and crawled back to the house. Been in hospital for two weeks and have a couple of weeks to go.”
Images shared with the publication showed Trent with bandages covering his entire face and forearms. His sister called an ambulance, with Trent praising her as “amazing” and “so brave”. MICA intensive care paramedics were then called, and a helicopter was requested to airlift him to hospital in Melbourne.
Traumatic Experience
Trent confirmed he was sober at the time of the accident, which he described as “traumatic”. He is best known for starring in the 2023 series of Love Island Australia, but confirmed ahead of the show that he already had a romantic past with season four finalist Phoebe Spiller.
He said in 2023: “I dated… well, not dated, but we were on and off for a couple of years, Phoebe Spiller from last year and I. I thought I was gonna marry that girl, so I was pretty disappointed to see her on the show last year.”
Upcoming Cameo
Now he is set to make a cameo in the new series of Married at First Sight Australia, when he attends the wedding of his Love Island co-star Zac Nunns. Nunns is paired with TikTok star Vanilla Milla on the reality show.
