Kaia Gerber Pays Heartbreaking Tribute to Late Brother Presley
Kaia Gerber's Emotional Tribute to Late Brother Presley

Kaia Gerber has shared an emotional Instagram tribute to her brother Presley, speaking publicly for the first time since his death in September at the age of 27. The model, 25, posted a video of the pair dancing together as toddlers, in which Presley suddenly wraps his arms around her in a tight hug.

In a lengthy caption, Kaia wrote: "I don't have the words and maybe the tiny mercy is that we didn't need them all along. Words fail and words subtract and words summarise and words always lack truth. And how naive of me to believe that language could transcend grief."

Heartfelt Words for Her 'Great Protector'

She continued: "I've read all the books and I have none of the answers. My articulation is no match against this, the magnitude of losing you. I am quite literally down on my f***ing knees."

Kaia said she loved being Presley's sister and that it was her "favourite thing" about herself. She recalled how her brother often did things first to ease her fears, such as getting his ears pierced so she would know it wasn't painful. When she was given one of his earrings after his death, she said: "All I could think was: that belongs to you. And I really f***ing wish you hadn't gone first this time."

"To say loving you was the easiest thing in the world would imply that it required any effort at all," she added. "I was born loving you. I will die loving you, there was never anything else."

Family Tributes and Ongoing Investigation

Kaia described Presley as "my best buddy, my great protector, the hardest I've ever laughed and the one true love of my life - you lit all of my candles and took all of my monsters away." She also shared a childhood photo of them looking out to sea and a poem called The Gate by Marie Howe, written in 1997 after the death of her younger brother John.

Their mother, Cindy Crawford, previously posted a tribute to Presley, saying: "He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever. We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability."

Presley died at a rehab facility in California, with police investigating a suspected overdose. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner still lists his case as pending investigation, while the Santa Monica Police Department has said there is no indication of foul play.
