Isabel Hodgins near tears after kind stranger's gesture

Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has revealed she was left close to tears after a kind stranger offered to cut up her food at an M&S café in the Trafford Centre. The 32-year-old actress, who plays Victoria Sugden on the ITV soap, was visiting the shopping centre with her baby daughter Georgie to escape the heatwave.

Unexpected help from a fellow mum

In a video posted to her Facebook page, Hodgins explained that she was flying solo without her husband Adam Whitehead. She had gone to the M&S café to feed Georgie and ordered avocado on toast with a side of smoked salmon. Normally, her husband would cut up her food, but she was on her own.

“This lovely woman came up to me and went, ‘Do you want me to cut your food up for you?’” Hodgins said. “Ordinarily, I would have gone, ‘No it’s fine, it’s fine,’ and struggled. But I took the opportunity and I said, ‘That would be so kind of you, thank you so much!’ So she cut up my salmon for me.”

The woman told Hodgins she remembered what it was like with her own children. Hodgins added: “I just thought, aren’t mums and aren’t people gorgeous. No disrespect to dads, but a dad didn’t offer and a mum did! I hope this lovely lady gets all the nice, kind karma in the world.”

Close to tears

Captioning the post, Hodgins wrote: “I was close to tears.” She later added in the comments: “Would love to locate her so I say thank you properly.”

Hodgins and her husband Adam Whitehead welcomed their first child, Georgie Grace Whitehead, on February 11, 2026, at 1:02 am, weighing 8lbs 5oz. The couple married in a fairytale wedding at Castlefield Rooms in Manchester city centre in March 2025, attended by Hodgins’ Emmerdale co-stars Danny Miller, Mark Jordon, Laura Norton, Jeff Hordley, and Zoë Henry.

First family holiday

Earlier this month, Hodgins and Whitehead marked a first with their daughter as they jetted off on their first trip abroad. Hodgins was seen all smiles at Manchester Airport with Georgie in a pram, and later shared a video of herself singing “we’re going on a holiday” with Georgie in her arms.

The family stayed in sunny Cala d’Or on Mallorca’s southeast coast, a family-friendly resort about an hour from Palma, known for its stunning architecture and pine-fringed scenery.
