Ireland Baldwin Criticized for Perez Hilton Comments
Ireland Baldwin Slammed for Perez Hilton Comments

Ireland Baldwin, daughter of actor Alec Baldwin, has been criticized for her remarks about Perez Hilton, who was hospitalized this week after a disturbing incident during a TikTok live broadcast.

Incident and Reaction

Hilton, 48, shared a 30-minute live stream where he was seen holding a knife and covered in blood, alarming fans and prompting concern. His family has since asked for prayers and well wishes as he receives treatment.

Ireland, 30, posted a selfie on Instagram with a caption recalling past grievances against Hilton, saying he had "publicly humiliated my family for years, sexualised me from a young age, commented on my weight and body (as a child), made unforgivable comments about people in my family." She added, "But his children deserve better, and a healthy father, and I am so sad for all of them. I hope he gets the help he needs and heals."

Public Backlash

Despite her message ending on a hopeful note, social media users slammed her comment. One user wrote, "Let me say this. Ireland Baldwin has no room to say [poo emoji] about Perez. He didn't do anything to her. She's not blaming her dad for his [poo emoji] choices." Another said, "Classy of her to take the high road like that." Others criticized her timing, with one adding, "Very mature of Ireland to not jump on the bandwagon of someone who is clearly mentally ill and in crisis. Class act."

Support for Hilton

Meanwhile, many have voiced support for Hilton. Katie Price told The Sun, "It's so sad to see him like this. I'm shocked by what has happened. I've always liked Perez." Former Celebrity Big Brother co-star Nadia Sawalha condemned the sharing of videos, saying, "I am utterly disgusted that people are asking, and looking, and finding videos and photographs of this poor man in the middle of the most horrific breakdown." Lisa Moorish added, "Horrendous!! These platforms are a disgrace. And a danger to our children."

Hilton's Condition

Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, was taken to hospital after Miami police received reports of a "possible suicide" at around 6:51pm local time on Tuesday. He is now communicating with his family, who released a statement saying, "We have also been able to confirm that Perez is able to communicate, which has given our family hope." They asked for continued prayers and understanding as he recovers.
