Jamie Oliver and his wife, Jools, live at Spains Hall, a historic 16th-century country house near the village of Finchingfield in Essex, which they reportedly bought for £6 million in 2019.
The couple moved to the estate with their five children, settling into a property set within 70 acres of grounds. The Grade I-listed estate includes several additional buildings, among them a six-bedroom farmhouse and a three-bedroom lodge.
Historic Estate and Family Life
The property's history and extensive outdoor space have featured in the family's public life, with Oliver filming television programmes at the estate and Jools occasionally sharing glimpses of its interiors on social media.
The grounds include a walled garden lined with plants and greenery, as well as a vegetable garden where Oliver grows his own produce.
Home-Grown Harvest
In an Instagram post shared on Sunday, October 25, the chef showed followers the garden's latest harvest, celebrating the results of his efforts over the summer.
“My veg garden worked super hard this summer..... it made some absolute beauties !! Nothing beats growing your own grub. Big love xxx,” he wrote.
Oliver, who has built his career around making cooking accessible to everyone, has frequently shared his enthusiasm for fresh ingredients and growing food. His vegetable garden offers a way to put that philosophy into practice, with home-grown produce providing inspiration beyond the professional kitchen.
A Country Setting
The estate's combination of historic architecture, open countryside and cultivated gardens offers a different setting from the busy London lifestyle the family previously enjoyed.
While the mansion's reported £6 million purchase price dates back to 2019 and is not a reflection of its current market value, the property remains an impressive example of an English country estate.
Before moving to Essex, the family lived in a seven-bedroom home in Hampstead, north London, which Jamie bought for a reported £8.95 million in 2016.
