Viewers of Gordon Ramsay's upcoming Netflix docuseries will get a front-row seat to one of 2025's most talked-about celebrity weddings, complete with the family drama that overshadowed the big day.
Cameras Capture Lavish Nuptials and Notable Absences
The series, titled 'Being Gordon Ramsay', is scheduled to begin streaming on Netflix in February 2025. It will include footage from the December 27 wedding of Ramsay's influencer daughter, Holly, 25, to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, 31, at Bath Abbey. The production crew, which had been following the chef and his family for over a year, was present to film the ceremony and celebrations.
The guest list included high-profile names like David and Victoria Beckham, alongside Peaty's fellow Olympians and friends from Strictly Come Dancing. However, the absence of the groom's own parents, Mark and Caroline Peaty, was a glaring omission captured by the cameras. A source told The Sun: 'The cameras were there and part of the day was filmed. It'll be very obvious which family members aren't there.' The insider added that the ongoing family feud would likely be addressed in the show.
A Bitter Feud Fuels Documentary Drama
The rift between Adam Peaty and his family, which led to his mother being barred from the wedding, is expected to be a focal point. The build-up to the wedding, including a controversial engagement party in December 2024 said to have sparked the feud, will also feature.
It was reported last month that Peaty's estranged family demanded to be removed from the documentary. His mother, Caroline, allegedly wrote to Netflix to state they did not consent to being filmed at the engagement party. A spokesman for the Ramsay family countered that the Peatys attended the party where filming notices were displayed, implying consent, and that they would not feature in the final edit.
Following the wedding, Gordon Ramsay is said to have made a pointed remark about his new son-in-law's parents in his speech, which reportedly left Caroline 'outraged'.
Peaty's Faith and Family Fallout
In his first social media post since the wedding, on New Year's Eve, Adam Peaty gave thanks to Jesus, crediting his Christian faith for guiding him through a tumultuous year. The devout athlete, who now uses his wife's surname, has spoken openly about how religion helped him recover from depression and alcoholism after the Tokyo Olympics.
However, his family has criticised him, insisting that shunning them contradicts his Christian beliefs. They accused him of barring his mother partly over disapproval of her chosen wedding outfit.
In a poignant reflection on Instagram, Caroline Peaty shared a repost expressing hope for a year of recovery and peace, stating: 'I deserve a year that doesn't hurt.'
The wedding will also be featured in a New Year's Day spread in Vogue Magazine, offering another glimpse into the lavish event that has captivated public attention and exposed a deep private division.
