Hilary Duff has come a long way from her girl-next-door days as Lizzie McGuire. Now a mother of four and a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, the actress and singer has been open about her struggles with body image and the pressure of Hollywood standards.
In recent interviews, Duff revealed that she has shifted her focus from weight to overall health. 'I'm appreciating my health, doing activities that make me feel strong instead of just bettering the outside of my body,' she said. She also emphasised the importance of weight training for women, citing benefits for bone health and posture.
Duff has been candid about the challenges of returning to fitness after each pregnancy. She admitted it was 'hard' and that she felt frustrated when her body didn't bounce back quickly. However, she now feels peaceful with the changes her body has undergone. 'I can look at my body now and appreciate all the things it has done for me,' she told Women's Health.
Her approach to diet is mindful, not restrictive. Working with a coach, she lost 10 pounds without starving herself, simply by being more conscious of her eating habits. She also turns family time into exercise, riding scooters with her children and playing tag.
Duff's most iconic swimsuit moment came when she was revealed as a cover model for the 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Despite her nerves – 'I'm a mum of four, and I'm not a spring chicken' – she described the experience as empowering and a celebration of women.
