Hilary Duff has previewed an explicit track from her upcoming album, 'luck ... or something', amid ongoing speculation about a feud with Ashley Tisdale. The 38-year-old singer shared a teaser on Instagram on Thursday, showing her lip-syncing to the song's provocative lyrics in a grassy field.
The new single, which is untitled, includes lines such as 'Only want the beginning, I don’t want the end / Want the part where you say goddamn / Back to a dive bar giving you head'. Duff captioned the post with a bed, sparkles, blue heart and tongue-out winky face emojis.
The preview comes days after Duff's husband, Matthew Koma, appeared to criticise Tisdale in an Instagram Story. Koma shared a fake magazine cover with the headline 'When You’re the Most Self-Obsessed Tone Deaf Person on Earth', sarcastically referencing Tisdale's recent essay for The Cut about leaving a 'toxic' mom group.
Tisdale's essay, published last week, described being 'frozen out' and 'excluded' from a celebrity mom group after the birth of her first daughter. While she did not name anyone, fans speculated it involved Duff, Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor. However, a representative for Tisdale later denied the piece was about them, calling the speculation 'unfortunate clickbait'.
Duff's album 'luck ... or something' is set for release on February 20, marking her first full-length record in over a decade. She returned to music in November with her first single in 10 years.
