Helen Flanagan has shared a heartbreaking update with fans, revealing that her eldest daughter Matilda was left in tears after a passport issue scuppered their planned holiday to Italy.
The former Coronation Street star, who played Rosie Webster, had hoped to take Matilda on a mother-daughter getaway to Lake Como. However, she realised too late that the 11-year-old's passport was out of date, and despite efforts to secure an emergency one, it wasn't possible.

Taking to Instagram, Helen filmed herself expressing her disappointment. She explained that she had travelled to Scotland to try to get an emergency passport, but without success. In the video, she addressed Matilda directly, saying: 'Mummy tried her best, didn't she? Mummy has tried. Love you.'
In the caption, she added: 'My little girls cried on my shoulder, she was so looking forward to our trip.'
Passport rules for children
While adults can use the Passport Office's one-day premium service for replacements, this doesn't apply to new passports or those for children under 16. The fastest service for a child's passport takes one week and requires an appointment, with availability never guaranteed.

Helen, who has three children with ex-partner Scott Sinclair, has been open about her personal life online. Earlier this week, she revealed she had taken her daughter to the doctors over skin discolouration caused by sun exposure, asking followers for foundation recommendations.
On her career, Helen has expressed a desire to return to Coronation Street, telling the Liverpool Echo: 'Honestly if they want me to come back, I'd love to, but [show bosses] just haven't spoken to me.' She added: 'I just really want to concentrate on my acting now.'
