Harry told to stop writing books and Meghan to stop making jam

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the UK in August, prompting speculation about their motives. Royal photographer Arthur Edwards, who has followed the Royal Family for 50 years, has now shared his advice for the couple.

Advice for the Sussexes

Edwards, who has documented the Royal Family since before Princes William and Harry were born, believes Harry belongs in Britain rather than America. He remains optimistic that Harry will "get involved" with Royal duties once more, describing him as "a great star".

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Edwards said: "There he was a celebrity amongst thousands of celebrities. Here he's a prince of the realm. He might not be the knight in shining armour at the moment, but knowing him he'll bounce back."

He added: "I think hopefully, if he just stops writing books and Meghan stops making horrible jam, and they start working a bit for the family, I think things could change."

Relationship with the King

Edwards also spoke about his five-decade working relationship with King Charles, dating back to when he was Prince of Wales. He confessed there have been "storming rows" with the King "where he's screaming at me". During one clash at Highgrove, he famously yelled "at least I've got a job" at the then-Prince Charles.

However, Edwards emphasised that such confrontations belong firmly in the past, expressing gratitude for the King's capacity for forgiveness.

Royal Family's distance

This comes as royal commentator Andrea Caamano told Page Six that the Royal Family is "washing their hands of Harry and Meghan". She said: "Despite Harry and Meghan's return to the UK, relations remain complicated, and I don't see the Palace wanting to become involved in matters concerning Meghan's father. I don't anticipate the Royal Family becoming involved in this situation."

Caamano noted that the King faces a packed schedule during his Caribbean tour, while Prince William prepares to travel to India for his Earthshot Prize Awards.
