Harry Styles made a triumphant return to Wembley on Friday for the first night of a historic 12-show residency that is set to rewrite the venue's record books.
Glitter-garbed fans from across the country descended on the stadium on Friday, dressed in feather boas, sequins and bright neon outfits for the opening night of the London leg of Styles' Together, Together tour.
Kicking off Friday's show in a black-and-white pin-striped suit, Styles opened with Are You Listening Yet? from his 2026 album Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally, followed by fan favourite Golden from his 2019 album Fine Line.
"Our job is going to be to entertain you. I promise we will do our very best and your job is to have as much fun as you possibly can [...] be free to be whoever you want to be," Styles told the crowd before launching into his third song, Adore You.
The run is set to see him break two major records. One for the most performances by any artist at the venue in a single year, and another for the most Wembley shows ever played by a solo artist on a single tour.
Styles last performed at Wembley in 2023 during his record-breaking Love On Tour, playing to more than 360,000 fans across four sold-out nights as the stadium was transformed into a sea of sequins, feathers and cowboy hats.
For many attending the opening show tonight, the wait has been years in the making. Some fans have travelled thousands of miles from across Europe, America and Asia to see the 32-year-old As It Was singer perform, with crowds gathering around Wembley Park hours before gates opened - and some sleeping overnight to get a place at the front.
The residency is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of fans to the capital over the coming weeks, with performances running up until July 4. In a nod to his fellow One Direction bandmates, Styles included an instrumental version of Night Changes during his setlist, much to the delight of young fans.
Opening Act 2, he added: "Sixteen years ago my sister brought me to London for the very first time for my X Factor audition, so driving here today and anytime I come through Wembley it means so much to me and it was right in that building next door where I was put into a band called One Direction."
"It means a lot to me to be here tonight." He then paused to reflect on the moment before shifting gears to discuss some "hard-hitting journalism", commenting on his favourite type of egg.
Country star Shania Twain opened the show on Friday and will be the special guest for all 12 nights of Harry Styles' residency at Wembley.
Towards the end of Friday's show, Harry Styles performed a tour debut of his song Little Freak, sending fans online into a meltdown. Fans who didn't manage to get tickets jokingly shared their frustration.
"Harry Styles played little freak and I'm not there," one dismayed fan said. "Harry Styles if you drop Little Freak on the 27th or the 4th I'll never forgive you," another added.
Styles finished his first night off with his colossal hit: As It Was, which has more than 4.2 billion streams.
