Harry Styles, 32, inadvertently proved he sings live during his record-breaking 12-night residency at Wembley Stadium after a microphone mishap was caught on camera. The former One Direction star is currently midway through the historic run, which surpasses Coldplay's previous record of 10 concerts last summer and Taylor Swift's eight performances in 2024.
During a weekend performance, fans noticed something amiss when Styles performed his hit track "As It Was." He was supposed to dash down the entire length of the stage to a platform among the audience during the introduction, but he reached the platform without his microphone. Footage on TikTok showed him sprinting back to the main stage to retrieve it, missing his opening lines as the band continued playing.
Fans React to the Blunder
Viewers were delighted by the error, as it confirmed Styles was not relying on a backing track. One fan commented: "Funniest way to prove he's singing live." Another added: "Proof this man's singing is the real deal." A third posted: "Well, that's one way to know that [he's] actually singing."
Supporters also joked about Styles' penchant for running, noting that clips from his residency often show him dashing around. They created a play on his album title, "Harry's House," joking: "Run all the time. Sing, occasionally."
Previous Incident at Wembley
The microphone mishap follows a separate incident last week that left fans "worried" about the star. During a performance, Styles appeared to choke after drinking water, spitting it out and coughing as if something was lodged in his throat. He dramatically collapsed before quickly standing up. One viewer said: "I actually had a heart attack while I was watching that live. I really thought something happened to him." Another remarked: "I was so worried, oh my gosh."
Styles has four remaining performances in his Wembley residency, concluding with the final show on Saturday, July 4.
