Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing to return to Britain with their two children after spending the past six years building a new life in the United States. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly planning to return to the UK for an "extended period of time" before the end of August, with Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, coming with them.
The family are understood to have already found a private home outside London and enrolled the children in a British school ahead of the new school year in September. Exactly where they will live has not been revealed. However, the Cotswolds have emerged as one possibility, with royal commentator Tom Sykes claiming Harry is "very interested" in the area.
Harry knows the Cotswolds well and spent much of his childhood nearby, with his father, King Charles's Highgrove House in Gloucestershire. If the family does settle there, it would also offer plenty of options for Archie and Lilibet's education. Both children are still young, and a school which allows them to attend together could make sense.
Harry and Meghan have not publicly revealed which school they have chosen. But with their reported move approaching, here are five schools that could potentially be in the running.
Beaudesert Park School
Beaudesert Park School is perhaps the most interesting possibility following the latest reports about Harry and Meghan's plans. The school is in the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire, which could make geographical sense if the Sussexes decide to settle in the area. Mr Sykes has specifically suggested Beaudesert Park as one possible choice for Archie and Lilibet. The co-educational independent school takes children from nursery age through to 13, meaning both Archie and his younger sister could attend together.
Windlesham House School
Windlesham House remains another possibility and has previously been mentioned in reports about where the Sussex children could go to school. The independent school is co-educational and takes children of Archie and Lilibet's ages, so there would be no need to separate the siblings. It sits on a large estate in the West Sussex countryside and would offer the family a setting well away from central London. There is also a geographical connection through Harry and Meghan's titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. However, Windlesham would make less geographical sense if reports that the family are considering the Cotswolds prove correct.
Bedales School
Bedales is another name that has already been suggested since news of the family's move emerged. The Hampshire school could be an interesting fit for Harry and Meghan because it is a little different from the traditional image many people have of a royal education. Bedales places a strong focus on individuality, creativity and independent thinking. It is also co-educational and takes children from the age of three, so both Archie and Lilibet could go there. There is a royal link as well. Princess Margaret's two children, David Armstrong-Jones and Lady Sarah Chatto, both attended Bedales.
Lambrook School
If Harry and Meghan wanted Archie and Lilibet to go to school with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, Lambrook would be an obvious option. Charlotte and Louis are already pupils at the Berkshire school, which takes boys and girls between the ages of three and 13. That means Archie and Lilibet are both the right age and could attend together. However, current speculation has suggested Lambrook may be less likely, given Harry's strained relationship with his brother, Prince William.
Cheam School
Cheam could offer Harry something rather special - the chance to send his children to the same school their grandfather attended. King Charles was a pupil at Cheam, as was his father, Prince Philip. The school takes both boys and girls and caters for children of Archie and Lilibet's ages, so it would work for the family now rather than being an option years down the line. That gives Cheam a particularly strong family connection, with Archie and Lilibet's grandfather and great-grandfather both having attended.
