MasterChef star Gregg Wallace has hit back at critics of his weight loss journey, insisting he will continue to share his transformation publicly. The 57-year-old lost 4.5 stone since 2017 after doctors warned he was heading for a heart attack.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Wallace said he 'never, ever been on a diet' but instead taught himself about healthy eating. He cut down takeaways and alcohol, and now eats three big healthy meals a day to avoid snacking.
Wallace revealed his cholesterol had reached nearly 14, far above the healthy level of 5. He said the wake-up call came when his doctor told him: 'If we don't change, you're going to be seriously ill. You're heading for a heart attack.'
The TV chef now runs an online fitness programme called ShowMe.Fit, which includes nutritional advice and recipes from his wife Anne-Marie Sterpini. He advises others: 'Don't be hungry. Don't do anything that's going to make you hungry.'
