Grace Hayden stuns in white dress at The Everest race

Grace Hayden, daughter of Australian cricket legend Matthew Hayden, turned heads in a white lace dress while attending The TAB Everest horse race, sharing photos with her partner Wilson Statham on social media.

A striking outfit at the races

The outfit, which could easily be mistaken for a wedding dress, was paired with a matching hat. Grace teased her followers with the low-cut lacy design as she enjoyed a day out at the event, billed as the "world's richest race on turf," with 12 racehorses competing for AU$20,000,000 (£10.53m).

In one post, Grace wrote "Hey goodlooking," alongside snaps of the couple from the stands. The post attracted over 22,000 likes, with comments from friends and fans praising her look. One pal joked, "Woo hoo! Who are the gorgeous looking couple," while another said, "Just gorgeous Grace!" A third commented, "Absolutely stunner and this is fashion best dressed in a long time," and another added, "Queen Grace of Australia!"

Career in broadcasting

Grace has built a name for herself in horse racing broadcasting. Her big break came in 2022 when she served as an ambassador for Channel 7's coverage of Oaks Day. She then moved into presenting, first as a Fashion Reporter for the same network, before switching to cricket and the 2023 Big Bash League.

Since her move into TV, she has been in a relationship with Wilson, who made their relationship public in April 2024. The couple were seen together at a Sydney pub a month later and were pictured sharing a tender moment in the sea on Sunday before lounging on the sand.

Addressing critics

Wilson comes from famous stock as heir to the Sundown Pastoral cotton dynasty, thought to be worth an estimated £230 million. Grace, who knows what it's like to have a famous father, has previously slammed critics who put her success down to her surname.

"People want to throw in whatever they want to throw at me. But I definitely know I do the work. I do the hard yards, and it's a lot of research," she said. "I came into this life being Matthew Hayden's daughter. I definitely wrestled with it when I was younger, when people would say I only made a sports team because I was 'Matthew Hayden's daughter' or I only did something because I was 'Matthew Hayden's daughter'. But I got really good advice from someone who said, 'You need to learn to embrace that, because you are proud of it.' And at the end of the day, I'm so proud of my dad and mum, for what they've achieved together."
