Tilly Ramsay, the 24-year-old daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, has disclosed what her father is like when the cameras stop rolling. In a recent episode of The Runna Podcast on July 17, Tilly said that Gordon remains consistent whether on screen or off.
Growing Up Around Cameras
Tilly, who hosted CBBC's Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch and currently presents Prime Video's Dish It Out, explained that she "kind of grew up around cameras" as the daughter of one of the world's best-known chefs. She watched her father work at home and observed that "he is the same person when the camera's on and the camera's off." This helped her understand how to behave in front of a lens.
Describing the CBBC show as "very relaxed," Tilly noted that it was filmed in her family kitchen with her siblings during summer holidays, making it feel "very normal." She said: "I loved it because I was with my family."
Family Life and Cooking Lessons
Tilly is one of six siblings: Megan, twins Holly and Jack, Oscar, and Jesse. She is the daughter of Gordon and broadcaster Tana Ramsay. In a previous interview with Country and Town House, Tilly spoke about learning to cook from her famously critical father. She said: "I wouldn't say it was tough love. I think it was just getting me involved. That was his approach." She added that Gordon always wants to share his knowledge and excite others to the same level he feels.
Cornwall Village Sees Search Spike
Meanwhile, the small village of Rock in Cornwall has become the UK's most searched holiday spot, a surge linked to Gordon Ramsay's Netflix series Being Gordon Ramsay, which showcased his holiday home there. Searches such as "Where is Rock in Cornwall?" and "Rock Beach Cornwall" spiked following the show.
Elliot Walker, editor of local travel guide Cool Cornwall, said: "We always knew Rock was pretty special. But its appearance in a top TV show has dramatically boosted its fame and appeal." He added: "Anyone who visits Rock will understand why Gordon Ramsay has chosen this as his out-of-London retreat. The estuary views, dune-backed sandy beaches, lovely coastal walks, watersports such as sailing and wakeboarding, as well as several great restaurants and pubs, make this a truly special place to spend time."
