Gordon Ramsay: Manners Are the Most Important Lesson for My Kids

Gordon Ramsay has revealed that the most important lesson he has taught his six children is good manners, describing it as both simple and invaluable. The 59-year-old chef, known for his fiery temper on shows like Hell's Kitchen and MasterChef, shared his parenting philosophy in an interview with Fox News Digital.

Ramsay, who has six children with his wife Tana, said: 'The one thing I've taught them all, brilliantly, are manners. The most important thing in life, but they cost zero.' He emphasised that this lesson underpins their upbringing, even as he balances a busy television career with family life.

The chef's comments come amid continued success across his TV empire, with Fox recently renewing programmes including Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Next Level Chef, Next Level Baker and Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service. Ramsay drew parallels between his show schedule and parenting, telling People magazine: 'I have six shows on air right now. That's like saying, I have six kids as well, what's my favorite kid? It depends – it's the one that least p***** me off at the moment.'

Ramsay also spoke about his daughter Matilda, 24, who is pursuing a culinary career. He praised her decision to attend culinary school in Ireland rather than train under him, calling it a sign of commitment. 'Food, restaurants, this industry, you really need to want it, and Tilly was banging the door down,' he said. 'And finally, one out of six wants to be a chef, which has made my entire f****** year.'
