Gabriel Garland, the Love Island bombshell who was removed from the show after less than a day due to alleged links to a 2019 stabbing, has broken his silence. In a video posted on Instagram, the model addressed the incident and his sudden departure.
Gabriel's Statement
Gabriel said: "There was an incident that happened at a party I was at when I was a teenager. This incident is obviously one that should not be taken lightly and was very traumatic for everyone concerned. I just wanted to make it clear, the legal judge found no wrongdoing against me and I don't have a criminal record. This has resulted in me leaving Love Island, which is very disappointing."
He added: "I was also forming a really strong connection in there which you guys didn't get to see, which is sad. But I wanted to tell you this directly." Gabriel thanked those who supported him and said he wants to "move forward in a positive way."
ITV's Response
ITV confirmed his exit at the time, stating: "Gabriel has now left the villa and will not be returning." His entrance was aired, but subsequent scenes were cut.
Love Island Complaints
The series has faced over 180 complaints to Ofcom in June, with viewers citing "misogynistic" behavior. Scenes included Tommy kissing Namibia, Ellie, and attempting to kiss Priya, leading to viewer backlash. Simba also faced criticism after being rejected by Mica.
