Erika Kirk Shares Heartfelt Valentine's Day Tribute to Late Husband Charlie

Erika Kirk has publicly honored her late husband, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, with an emotional social media post marking the first Valentine's Day since his tragic assassination. The 37-year-old widow shared a poignant Instagram post on Friday evening, featuring a handwritten note from Charlie alongside the hand of one of their two young children.

A Love Letter Preserved

In her caption, Erika expressed profound longing for her husband's written words. "What I would give for one more love letter... They had such a deep reverence about them," she wrote. "You'd intentionally set aside the noise of the world and hand me words that felt sacred filled with a depth of love both of us could never quite articulate."

She described how she now reads his letters more slowly, reflecting on the unexpected turn their lives took. "The weight on my heart reminds me of a reality that we were never promised gray hair and rocking chairs even though we assumed it was guaranteed," Erika continued. "But my goodness, do I love telling the babies about the fullness of our covenant that left a mark on my soul. My favorite love story."

The Tragic Circumstances

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, while debating students on the campus of Utah Valley University during his American Comeback tour. The conservative activist's death sent shockwaves through political circles and left his young family devastated.

The handwritten note Erika shared contained Charlie's words: "I love you so much and can't wait to see what adventures lay ahead of us." The couple had married in 2021 and welcomed a daughter in August 2022 followed by a son in May 2024.

Family Plans and Legacy

Erika has revealed that she was praying to be pregnant when her husband was killed, as they had planned to have four children together. In a November interview with Megyn Kelly, she explained their excitement about expanding their family. "I was like, 'Oh, goodness, that was going to be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe,'" she said about the possibility of another child.

Since Charlie's death, Erika has assumed the role of CEO at Turning Point USA. She has used her platform to encourage young couples not to delay having children. "Especially if you're a young woman, don't put it off. You can always have a career, you can always go back to work. You can never just go back to having children," she advised. "And they grow so fast and so quickly. I just, I was praying. Both of us were."

A Message to Followers

In her Valentine's Day post, Erika encouraged her followers to cherish their relationships. She urged them to "honor the Sabbath this weekend with your loved ones" and to write love letters to their significant others. "A letter like this might seem trivial, but you just never know the course life will take, if the Lord calls you home, even in your absence, as they reflect on your words, your love is still serving them," she wrote.

Erika concluded her emotional tribute with a personal message to her late husband: "I love you Charlie baby, you will always be my Valentine." The post serves as both a memorial to their relationship and a reminder of the fragility of life, coming nearly five months after Charlie Kirk's untimely death at a university campus event that was meant to foster political dialogue.
