Emma Stone has revealed she avoids launching an Instagram account due to concerns for her mental health. The 37-year-old actress, known for her roles in 'La La Land' and 'Poor Things', told Rolling Stone magazine that she prefers to be a 'lurker' rather than engaging directly with social media.
Asked if she would ever start a lifestyle website, Stone replied: 'One hundred percent no. That’s why I don’t even have Instagram. I’m too afraid of my own mental health to be engaged in that way, and that’s why I’m such a lurker and love following other people’s stuff.'
The 'Bugonia' star is set to appear in a new commercial for Squarespace, which assists her in acquiring her own website domain name. A 30-second version of the ad will air during the Super Bowl on 8 February 2026, between the first and second quarters.
Filming the commercial prompted Stone to question why she had not purchased her own domain earlier, attributing it to a 'lack of foresight'. She said: 'I don’t know what I never actually did that. Squarespace kind of had to deal with my lack of foresight. So I’m very grateful they did or else the commercial really would not have worked.'
Stone also expressed excitement for the Super Bowl, which will feature the Seattle Seahawks against the New England Patriots, and the Halftime Show headlined by Bad Bunny. She plans to watch with her brother, a former high school quarterback.
