Emily Atack Backs Schoolgirls' Uniform Porn Petition

The Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack has publicly backed a campaign by schoolgirls to ban school uniforms in adult films. The 36-year-old Channel 4 star, who rose to fame as Charlotte Hinchcliffe in the sitcom, is taking a stand against the sexualisation of school uniforms.

Campaign Gains Celebrity Support

A group of teenagers from a school in Oxfordshire shared their petition on Instagram, where Emily wrote: "I'm with you all the way," along with a heart emoji. The petition states: "Children are being sexualised by the depiction of school aged identities in pornographic content. Please help to support our campaign by signing this petition. Collectively, we can achieve this goal: we can protect the current youth and those to come."

In April 2026, the UK government agreed to new legislation making it a criminal offence to possess or share pornographic content featuring adults pretending to be under 16, as part of the Crime and Policing Act 2026. However, this has not yet been put in place.

Actress's Personal Connection

Emily's 2023 documentary, Emily Atack: Asking For It?, followed a group of teen girls who told the actress they felt like a target while wearing their uniforms. Emily explained: "I was left feeling completely angered and outraged and sad. These girls were telling me that they feel more vulnerable in their school uniforms because there are men online who can’t control the things they say to them." She added: "It made me sick to my stomach and so angry."

The actress has openly discussed her own experiences of feeling sexualised, having previously been sent explicit photos of men flashing themselves and pleasuring themselves without her consent.

Previous Harassment Revealed

She once told The Sun on Sunday: "They knew where I lived, said what they were going to do to me, even my family." She continued: "I got the police involved. I’ve had people commenting on my body, my face, my hair, calling me fat, an untalented piece of s***, annoying, whatever, my whole life."

Emily added: "I’ve developed quite a thick skin, but when I started getting actual rape threats, and felt my safety was in jeopardy it became too much."
