Hunter Schafer questions future of Euphoria after Angus Cloud’s death

Hunter Schafer has expressed concerns that filming the third season of Euphoria will be too emotional following the death of Angus Cloud. The 25-year-old actor, who plays Jules Vaughn in the HBO teen drama, broke down in tears when discussing the show's future on the Call Her Daddy podcast.

Schafer said: 'A lot has happened. It’s hard to talk about. We’ve had deaths. I’m going to get emotional. I think everyone feels a certain sense of anticipation for if we are supposed to do season three.' She added that if the show returns, it will be tough, but there is a possibility to channel grief into a beautiful season.

Cloud, who played Fezco O’Neill, died from an accidental overdose in July last year. The Alameda County Coroner confirmed fentanyl, cocaine, benzodiazepine, and methamphetamine were found in his system. Schafer admitted she is still stunned by grief, saying it hits her at unexpected times.

HBO executive Casey Bloys told Variety that creator Sam Levinson is considering moving the show out of the high school setting, which has caused delays. Despite the setbacks, HBO has confirmed that season three will go ahead.
