Eamonn Holmes' girlfriend 'devastated' as she moves out of flat

Katie Alexander, the girlfriend of Eamonn Holmes, is said to be "devastated" after moving out of the £1.3million flat the couple shared. The 45-year-old left the Surrey property following the 66-year-old GB News presenter's stroke in April.

Relationship remains strong

Eamonn began renting the three-bedroom flat after his split from wife Ruth Langsford in 2024, with Katie later moving in. According to The Sun on Sunday, Eamonn's family are understood to be managing his finances after he fell ill earlier this year. Reports earlier this week suggested the news host would not return to his GB News role, but channel bosses have denied this.

"Katie is still very much together with Eamonn and in love, but she's moved out of the flat," a source told the publication. They described it as a "very sad situation," adding that she had loved living there with him and making it a home.

Katie's role in Eamonn's recovery

The source added: "Katie has been Eamonn's rock and lifeline since he fell ill. She's willing him to get back to full fitness and get their lives back on track." Mum-of-three Katie divides her time between her home in West Yorkshire and the Surrey flat. The Mirror has reached out to Eamonn's reps for comment.

Health struggles and public absence

Eamonn has faced numerous health issues over the years, including surgery on both hips in 2016 to relieve chronic hip, leg, and back pain. He later fell down stairs, fracturing his shoulder, and suffered a painful infection. Severe spinal issues led to bladder and bowel problems and a nine-day hospital stay. In 2022, he had another fall.

In April, he was found at his flat by a carer after suffering a stroke and has not been seen in public since. He missed the TRIC Awards in the summer, sending a pre-recorded message after GB News won the Award for Best News Programme for the fourth consecutive year. In the message, he said: "I'd dearly wished I could have been there to celebrate with the team, but for now my focus has to be on making a full recovery and getting back to my best." He also thanked those who sent get-well messages, saying: "They really do mean the world to me."

Following the stroke, his son Declan issued a statement thanking everyone for support, calling the news a "real shock." He said: "What happened came as a real shock, but dad is doing OK given the circumstances and we're taking it one step at a time. For now, we're focused on him and keeping things steady around him." He added: "We'd really value a bit of privacy as we navigate it, and what lies ahead, but thank you again for the support as it means so much to dad and the rest of the family."
