Davina McCall's husband, Michael Douglas, has revealed he plans to get a facelift, saying the stress of her health battles has made him feel he has "aged 10 years."
The celebrity hairdresser, 53, told fashion designer Amanda Wakeley on her Style DNA podcast that his appearance had "started to really deteriorate" after years of supporting Davina and running his own business.
Stress of health battles
"In the last three years, I have aged about 10 years and I can really see it. Davina had a brain tumour, she had breast cancer, I've been fully running a business for the last four years, in an intense way," he said.
"And I can see that it's really taking its toll in my face. It's started to really deteriorate. Once the business journey's over, and me and Davina start to wind down a bit, I will get a little lower facelift."
Pulling at the skin over his eyelids, he joked: "This is almost like a labia. Look at that. So yeah, we'll probably do a little cut round [my eyes] and then I'll start to look after my skin a bit."
Plans to slow down
Michael also shared that he and Davina were both looking to step back from work in the future. "At some point, we'll probably pull back a little bit from that in five, ten years' time or something, and then just kind of rediscover ourselves a little bit," he said.
"And that will be a kind of self-makeover that I'll do of myself, I think, and it'll require a haircut, a little facelift, and maybe a rejig of wardrobe or something."
He added: "I genuinely might go and see a plastic surgeon and just say, OK, what do you think? When would be a good time to do something? What should I do if I was gonna do something?"
Davina's health journey
Davina underwent surgery in 2024 to remove a rare but benign brain tumour, discovered during a body scan related to her menopause advocacy. Last week, she revealed she had been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease.
"Anyone can get sick and when I had my cancer experience, you just suddenly feel vulnerable in a way you weren't before…Once you've been ill, you think 'Oh, I thought I was invincible,'" she said.
Davina added: "Heart attacks and cardiovascular disease is rife out there particular in women post menopause. If there's one takeaway today it's not to brush things off. Get your blood pressure and cholesterol checked, and if something feels wrong, listen to your body."
The former Big Brother presenter married Michael in an intimate ceremony in December, weeks after her cancer surgery. She was previously married to Andrew Legget, who she split with after three months, and later to Matthew Robertson, with whom she shares children Holly, Tilly and Chester, before their split in 2017 after 17 years of marriage.
