Dave Franco has responded to speculation that he might portray Luigi Mangione in a future biopic. The actor appeared on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live alongside his wife Alison Brie, where a fan asked if he would take on the role.
Franco noted that social media had reached a consensus that he should play Mangione, but clarified that no official approach has been made. 'No one has approached me about it yet,' he said, adding that the topic had generated more personal messages than anything else in his life.
He left the door open for the possibility, stating: 'Let's just say I'm open if the right people… and let's just leave it at that.'
Luigi Mangione is the American accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. He faces multiple charges including murder with a firearm, forgery, and identity falsification. Mangione pleaded not guilty in December 2024, with his next New York state court appearance scheduled for 16 September.
Franco recently received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Apple TV+'s The Studio. He was previously nominated for his work in 2022's Pam & Tommy. His next film, Now You See Me: Now You Don't, is set for release on 14 November.
