Dani Dyer Lands Major Movie Role Following Dad Danny

Love Island star Dani Dyer has secured her first major movie role, following in the footsteps of her famous father, Danny Dyer. The 29-year-old reality star, who previously appeared as an extra in films starring her dad, has now landed a part in the Sky Original film Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, scheduled for release later this year.

Dani's Role in the Film

Taking to Instagram Stories, Dani shared a trailer with her 3.7 million followers, revealing she plays the village influencer. In the movie, she is seen taking a selfie with the "unsuspecting Beast" of Mossingham—a highland cow. Captioning the post, she wrote: "It was so fun being part of this," accompanied by laughing and sparkling emojis.

The film, directed by Steve Cox and Matthew Walker, is set ahead of Halloween. The farm's residents look forward to festivities, but the farmer ruins the pumpkin patch. Shaun turns into a "mad scientist" to fix the problems, and the farmer eventually goes missing, hinting that the mystery beast is behind his disappearance.

Production and Release

When the movie was announced in May last year, Sky Cinema's executive producer and head of originals, Andrew Orr, said: "Shaun is a household name, so it's huge news for us to be welcoming him and the flock to our 2026 Sky Original film slate. It's an honour to work with Aardman at such an exciting time for the studio, with a film that we know fans of all ages will love. Expect laughs, spookiness and some brilliantly entertaining new characters."

Dani's Busy Year

Dani is also returning to Strictly Come Dancing this year, after being forced to withdraw in 2025 due to an injury before the first live show. Speaking about her return, she said: "I am so excited to be back in the ballroom this September! I just cannot wait to get my dancing shoes back on, and hopefully this time around I can actually make it to week one! I'm just over the moon and cannot wait to find out who else is doing it!"

She joins a lineup including EastEnders icon Lacey Turner, singer Delta Goodrem, and celebrity hairdresser Chris Appleton. The show will undergo a major makeover this year, as long-term hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman quit last year, and It Takes Two hosts Fleur East and Janette Manrara will not return. Bosses have signed Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Strictly pro Johannes Radebe as presenters.
