Former Coronation Street actor Liam Scholes has shared a shocking health update with his fans, revealing he was rushed to hospital following a terrifying attack by a monkey whilst on holiday.

The 22-year-old star, who played Eli Higginson on the ITV soap and now portrays Noel McManus on the BBC's Waterloo Road, posted a video from a hospital bed where he was seen receiving treatment via an IV drip. In a dramatic Instagram caption, Scholes wrote: "When you nearly get killed by a monkey in the desert... game is over wait for the reel guys... just you wait," accompanied by several crying emojis.
Family Contrast and Girlfriend's Support
In a subsequent post to his Instagram Story, the young actor highlighted the bizarre nature of the incident by contrasting his experience with his family's. He posted pictures showing other members of the Scholes family having seemingly peaceful encounters with monkeys, captioning it: "Liam Scholes doesn't have the same monkey appear as the rest of the Scholes clan. Monkey 1, Liam 0."
Scholes also took the opportunity to thank his girlfriend, Roisin Riley, for her support during the ordeal, describing her as his 'lifesaver' in the situation.

During his time on Coronation Street, Scholes appeared as a friend of Corey Brent, involved in the storyline surrounding the vicious attack that killed character Seb Franklin.
