Coronation Street fans have been left expressing their fears for a Weatherfield legend as they appear to be the one to have clocked Ross Wilkes' suspicious behaviour.
As those who follow the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, know, the new character arrived in Weatherfield last month and quickly put a wedge between Cassie Plummer and her son, Tyrone Dobbs.
That's because Ross was revealed to be Tyrone's long-lost father. The big reveal came after Tyrone's children surprised him with a birthday present: they found his father through a DNA database.
But it came as an uncomfortable shock to Cassie, as she had earlier flirted and made a pass at Ross, not knowing who he was, as she drowned her sorrows at the Chariot Square Hotel bar following a failed proposal to her partner, Steve McDonald.
Ross's dark past exposed
Despite his initial shock, Tyrone has since been keen to get to know his dad, and even Tracy Barlow has since been seen growing close to Ross, while Cassie tried desperately to get rid of him.
She first got in touch with a former partner, hoping she would help. However, Ross overheard Cassie on the phone, and when the woman arrived, she claimed she had lied to Cassie about what she had been through with Ross.
She again tried to expose Ross for who he really is when the Dobbs' organised a little party for the newcomer. Cassie watched on in horror until she eventually snapped and revealed that Ross paid her for sex when she was just 15, resulting in her falling pregnant with Tyrone.
While horrified, Tyrone and Tracy didn't want Ross out of their lives, as he agreed to apologise to Cassie before agreeing to a clean slate. However, he later threatened her life if she were to get in between him and developing a relationship with his son.
Cassie's fate sealed
Determined to see the back of Ross, last week, Cassie was seen spiking his drink with some of Tyrone's painkillers, only for him to spot her, swap the drinks with Tracy, who collapsed and ended up in hospital following a drug overdose.
As the truth came out, Cassie pleaded she had been set up, claiming she had only used a couple of the tablets so that Ross would fail a drug test at his new prison job, and that the empty pill packet had been planted in her pocket. Tyrone refused to make amends with her, and with Steve also pushing her away, Cassie announced she had landed a job on a cruise ship and would be leaving Weatherfield.
Later, after an emotional farewell to her family, Cassie headed to the precinct where she planned to meet Steve McDonald, but Ross got there first. He told Cassie that he'd give her a lift to the train station before confessing that he framed her over Tracy's collapse. Cassie threatened to go to the police, but Ross wouldn't let her out of the car, and as he took off, it was the last time Corrie viewers saw her.
Fiz on the warpath
It was during Corrie's follow-up episode on Tuesday (August 4) that Fiz, who had been warned by Cassie not to trust Ross, was seen growing suspicious of her new father-in-law. She looked uncomfortable when Ross hinted he needed somewhere to stay, suggesting Kevin Webster had a spare room.
She also clocked that he acted surprised when he found out that Cassie had left and then proceeded to lie to Steve about seeing her before her exit. Letting him know that she's onto him, Fiz told Ross in the pub: "I'll let that slide, for now. But if you put one foot out of line, you're gonna be back in Warrington before you know what's hit you."
And now Corrie fans are fearing that Ross could end up turning on Fiz, who has been played by Jennie McAlpine in the long-running show since 2001.
