Corrie fans distracted by Sarah Platt's prison look in court

Coronation Street fans have been left baffled after noticing a Sarah Platt detail in court. Soap legend Sarah (Tina O'Brien) has had a dramatic few months on the cobbles. Currently, she is behind bars after she murdered evil Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) in self-defence.

Sarah had killed Theo in April earlier this year after she attacked him with a metal pole on top of the scaffolding, sending him falling over the edge and to the ground below. Sarah then enlisted the help of former flame and friend Gary Windass (Mikey North) to cover up the crime. And despite her boyfriend Kit Green's (Jacob Roberts) attempts to help her get away with the crime, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of killing Theo.

Sarah's Trial Takes Centre Stage

She has since been sent to prison - where she has had a tough time - and this week, her trial took place. Sarah's family, Bethany (Lucy Fallon), David (Jack P. Shepherd) and Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) all headed to court, and listened as Sarah appeared in the dock. The prosecution barrister told the jury that Sarah had attacked Theo in support of her best friend, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) after learning of his abuse at the hands of his husband.

Theo's ex-wife, Danielle (Natalie Anderson) was seen giving evidence, slamming Sarah. And although Sarah insisted it was self-defence it didn't seem things were working in Sarah's favour. In Thursday's episode (October 15) the trial continued and it was time for Todd to take to the stand. Although he nearly didn't make it, he eventually showed up and in court, opened up about the abuse he suffered at the hands of Theo.

Fans Question Sarah's Prison Appearance

However, with all the drama going down in the court, fans have been left distracted by a detail. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, viewers pointed out how good Sarah's hair and nails looked considering she's been in prison.

“A French manicure on hands and feet in prison for Sarah! Plus her highlights are perfect! Oh please…” said one person. Someone else added: “It's laughable isn't it.” A third also mused: “Why has Sarah got a full face of makeup on? Has she rung up a MUA?” Echoing their thoughts, another person chimed in and wrote: “I noticed the hand and toenails manicure.”

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
