Coronation Street star Junade Khan has teased that there are 'secrets and violence' ahead for his character Idris Nazir, as the newcomer's true colours begin to emerge on the cobbles. The actor, known for roles in Game of Thrones, Hollyoaks and Waking the Dead, made his debut in the ITV soap as Idris, the cousin of long-standing character Alya Nazir.
Idris's Arrival and Immediate Impact
Idris made quite the impression as he strolled into Speed Daal and forced two inappropriate customers to pay up, supporting Leanne Battersby and Brody Michaelis, who were struggling to get through to them. Alya rushed over to give her cousin a hug, but later, Brody caught Idris holding someone up to the wall, demanding money. Idris soon took Brody under his wing, while also striking up a sizzling romance with Leanne, despite Alya's warnings about his reputation.
Secrets and Violence Ahead
Now, Junade has revealed that Idris is set to lure Leanne back to her 'dark side' as their romance blossoms over the coming weeks. The couple are even set to share a steamy night at the Chariot Square Hotel this week. 'There are a few secrets coming,' the actor teased to Inside Soap. 'And a bit of violence, maybe. More developments with Idris and Leanne, and Idris will probably bring out the dark side in Leanne a little bit…'
Jane Danson's Tease of What's to Come
Jane Danson, who plays Leanne, also teased what could be ahead for the new love interests, especially after the drama she faced when her former partner, Nick Tilsley, left her for her sister, Toyah Battersby. Speaking on This Morning earlier this month, the actress said: 'She’s doing some fun things, and there’s loads coming up. And also, just because her and Nick have split up doesn’t mean that they won’t work together. So, our characters are going to cross paths, but maybe not in the usual way. There might be a little bit of fighting and a little bit of mind games here and there in the future. But we’re looking forward to what they’ve got coming up. [Leanne and Idris are] potentially working together in Speed Daal, and we’ve got Toyah and Nick in the Bistro. So, there’s a potential for a bit of restaurant wars, maybe.'
