Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan has addressed the possibility of returning to the ITV soap as Daisy Midgeley, a role she played from 2020 until 2025. In a recent interview, Jordan confirmed that no one has approached her about a comeback, joking, 'nobody's asked.' She added, 'For now I’m happy to just keep exploring… I mean, I only left a year ago, it’s very early days, so now I’m happy to keep giving it a good go.'
Daisy's Major Storylines and Exit
During her time on the cobbles, Daisy was involved in several high-profile storylines. Most notably, she became the target of stalker Justin Rutherford, who became obsessed after meeting her in a hospital waiting room. The stalking culminated in a terrifying acid attack in 2023, during which Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) defended Daisy and suffered severe burns. In 2025, Daisy left Weatherfield after stealing a large sum of money from her step-mother, Jenny Connor.
New Role in The Hairdresser Mysteries
After leaving Coronation Street, Jordan briefly appeared in the radio soap The Archers as newcomer Amber but left due to scheduling conflicts after being cast in the BBC period drama series The Hairdresser Mysteries. The show, described as a 'cosy crime drama' set in the 1970s, recently premiered. Jordan stars as Clary Coombs alongside Sally Phillips as Lily Petal and Sunetra Sarker as Wincey Evans. According to the IMDb synopsis, the series follows Lily Petal as she swaps city life for a small village salon, where 'as clients share secrets during appointments, her intuitive skills help solve local mysteries.'
Contrasting Roles and Training
Speaking to Radio Times, Jordan highlighted the differences between Clary and Daisy. 'Speed-wise, it wasn’t an adjustment… Corrie was a fantastic training ground in that sense, for this particular job, but I did really like playing a character that couldn’t be more different from who I played… I was hoping for that. I wanted to play someone next who was the polar opposite, so I’m grateful for that.' She added, 'It wasn’t super different technically, it was all sort of the same ingredients, but it was a very different world, and it’s a very different tone… It’s a different genre, different vibes. So that was great.'
Future on Coronation Street
Despite her new project, Jordan left the door open for a potential return to Weatherfield. 'For now I’m happy to just keep exploring,' she said, emphasizing that it's still early days since her departure. Fans will have to wait and see if Daisy Midgeley ever makes a comeback.
