Gymnastics finals take centre stage
Day three of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow saw the men’s and women’s all-around gymnastics finals at The Arena. Marios Georgiou of Cyprus competed on the rings during the men’s event, while Georgia Godwin of Australia attempted a vault in the women’s final. Reuben Ward of Scotland celebrated with his coaches after the final score confirmed him as the winner of the men’s all-around artistic gymnastics final. Jovi Loh of Singapore was treated after falling off the parallel bars.
Swimming heats and semi-finals
In the pool, Scotland’s Ciara Schlosshan and Keanna MacInnes competed in the women’s 100m butterfly heats. Adam Ramsay-Peaty of England took part in the men’s 50m breaststroke heats and later in the semi-finals.
Weightlifting and combat sports
In weightlifting, Ruth Asuquo Nyong of Nigeria lifted in the women’s 48kg category, and gold medalist Mirabai Chanu Saikhom of India posed during the medal ceremony. In boxing, Samoa’s Danielle Dominique Holland faced Mauritius’ Marie Marine Gabriel in the women’s 54kg bout.
Team sports action
Netball saw a Pool A match between Australia and England at The Hydro. In wheelchair basketball, Robyn Love of Scotland shot under pressure from India’s Laxmi Rayannavar during a women’s 3x3 pool match. In 3x3 basketball, Uganda’s Melissa Akullu was challenged by Fiji’s Bolou Tuisue.
