The husband of Kristin Cabot, the HR executive caught in a viral kiss cam moment with her CEO at a Coldplay concert, has broken his silence. Andrew Cabot's spokesperson told People magazine that the couple had been "privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert."
Kristin Cabot and Astronomer CEO Andy Byron were filmed embracing during a kiss cam segment at Coldplay's Boston show on July 16. The video, which showed them awkwardly jumping apart when they appeared on the Jumbotron, sparked speculation of an affair and led to both stepping down from their roles.
Andrew Cabot's spokesperson said: "Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening. Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they've always valued." Kristin Cabot filed for divorce on August 13.
Neither Kristin Cabot nor Andy Byron has publicly addressed the nature of their relationship. Astronomer, the company involved, responded to the scandal by hiring Chris Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, for a satirical advertisement. The company also confirmed Byron's resignation, stating that "that standard was not met" regarding conduct and accountability.
