Chris Hughes, the former Love Island star, has allegedly been tormented by a female stalker for the past six years. The woman, who reportedly lives outside the UK, has been spreading 'lies' and 'nonsense' about the 33-year-old online, according to a source close to the Celebrity Big Brother star.
Stalker's Claims
The stalker has supposedly been telling people online that she and Chris are in a relationship and share a child. She has also accused him of extorting £700million from her. In recent weeks, her behaviour has intensified, with 'gross claims' about his relationship with JoJo Siwa, alleging the couple's romance is fake and contractual.
'Not only is she making gross claims about her link to Chris, but she’s alleging criminal activity,' a source told The Sun. 'Most upsetting to Chris, though, is that she has it in for him and JoJo and says it’s all a fake PR relationship as part of a contract agreed before Celebrity Big Brother.'
Action Taken
Chris is believed to have hired a private investigator to uncover the stalker's identity. The source added: 'It’s horrible and has been going on for six years, but she does not live in the UK so it’s not as easy to take action.'
'Chris is deeply appreciative of his fans’ support since Love Island and has always tried to keep a good relationship even with trolls,' the source continued. 'But there has to be a line, and this woman has without doubt crossed it.'
Relationship with JoJo Siwa
In May, Chris and JoJo, who met while filming Celebrity Big Brother, celebrated their one-year anniversary. JoJo marked the occasion on Instagram, writing: 'The greatest gift I’ve ever received in life was 365 days ago. What a beautiful year it’s been with you by my side. I wake up with more love every day, more gratitude every day, and a bigger smile on my face every day.'
Chris shared a black-and-white photo of the pair in a tropical location on his Instagram stories, captioned: 'Happy one year :).' The couple have hinted at marriage, with Chris telling The Sun: 'I’ve definitely given [marriage] some thought. But I don’t know the exact location or what time of day. I think spontaneity would be good, something a little bit different to your usual ways, but when it feels right, I’ll know.'
