Cheryl has reportedly been 'beside herself' with worry after her ex-partner Liam Payne was hospitalised with a serious kidney infection. The former One Direction star was forced to cancel his South American tour after being admitted to hospital twice.
An insider has revealed that the former couple, who share son Bear, have a long-standing agreement that 'family matters come first'. The source told Closer Magazine: 'Although they're exes, they've always remained close. Liam is Bear's dad, so her instinct has kicked in now and she wants to do all she can to help.'
Cheryl is said to be considering temporarily moving in with Liam, along with their son, to support his recovery. The insider added: 'She wants her and Bear to temporarily move in with Liam in the hope that it will lift his spirits and get him on the road to recovery.'
Liam's current girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, has provided an update on his health, stating: 'He is doing so much better. He is out of the hospital and he is in good hands.' Cheryl is reportedly keen not to 'step on anyone's toes' but feels compelled to help as the father of her child.
Despite the concern, Cheryl has assured friends and family that her intentions are 'purely platonic' and she is not trying to rekindle their romance. The insider emphasised: 'She says she isn't trying to push Kate out of the picture but is thinking of Bear and wants Liam to be on top form as a father.'
