Former Coronation Street actress Charlotte Jordan has provided a major update on Daisy Midgeley’s future one year after her exit from the ITV soap. Jordan, who first appeared as Daisy in 2021, has not been approached about a return, but she hasn't ruled out eventually popping back up in Weatherfield.
Daisy's Storyline and Exit
Jordan's character Daisy was introduced as the former step-daughter of Rovers Return landlady Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews). Her first storyline involved trying to get Jenny to leave her husband Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley). Daisy quickly became a fan favourite, enduring numerous hardships on the cobbles.
In 2023, she faced a stalker named Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still), who became obsessed with her. On the day of her scheduled wedding to Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), Justin threw acid at her, only for Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) to step in and protect her. Then in 2025, Daisy discovered she was pregnant but was unsure if the father was Daniel or Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), with whom she had an affair. After Daniel ended their relationship, Daisy suffered a miscarriage when caught in the crossfire of David Platt's (Jack P Shepherd) plan to stage his own death by getting hit by a car.
Daisy left the Street last year in the same fashion she arrived—with one last scheme that left Jenny penniless, which also led to Jenny's exit. Due to the nature of her exit, fans have remained hopeful that Jordan will return as Daisy one day.
Current Role in The Hairdresser Mysteries
Jordan can currently be found in the new BBC crime drama The Hairdresser Mysteries, available on BBC iPlayer. The series, which also stars comedian Sally Phillips, follows a hairstylist who leaves the city to run a hairdressers in a small town, becoming the centre of gossip and secrets.
In a new interview with the Radio Times, Jordan compared working on the series to Coronation Street. She said: "I mean, speed-wise, it wasn't an adjustment… Corrie was a fantastic training ground in that sense, for this particular job, but I did really like playing a character that couldn't be more different from who I played… which was great. I was hoping for that. I wanted to play someone next who was the polar opposite, so I'm grateful for that."
She added: "But no, it wasn't super different technically, it was all sort of the same ingredients, but it was a very different world, and it's a very different tone, and it's obviously very different, it's a different genre, different vibes. So that was great."
Future Return to Coronation Street
When asked about her Corrie future, Jordan revealed that no one has approached her about returning. However, she didn't rule out eventually popping back up in Weatherfield. "Oh, well, nobody's asked, but for now I'm happy to sort of just keep exploring and keep seeing what... I mean, I only left a year ago, it's very early days, so now I'm happy to keep, keep giving it a good go," she teased.
If Daisy were to return, it would certainly cause headaches for her on-again-off-again boyfriend Daniel, who is still trying to get over his girlfriend Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) using him to cover up her grooming of teenager Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).
