Channel 5 has announced a new true crime drama centred on one of Britain's most notorious murder cases. The broadcaster, which recently aired Under Suspicion: Kate McCann, will release Suspect: The Road Rage, focusing on Tracie Andrews, who murdered her fiancé Lee Raymond Dean Harvey on 1 December 1996. Andrews was sentenced to life imprisonment and served 14 years, initially denying any involvement.

Andrews walked into a police station in Worcestershire as a traumatised victim and sole witness to her fiancé's murder. She claimed they were chased by an aggressive driver, leading to a confrontation where a passenger with 'staring eyes' attacked and killed Harvey. Her testimony became the cornerstone of the investigation, and media coverage turned her into a 'blonde bombshell figure of public sympathy'.
However, inconsistencies emerged as detectives revisited timelines, cross-checked statements, and tested forensic evidence. Interviews shifted, and suspicion turned towards Andrews. The drama explores how the woman who entered the station as a witness became the prime suspect.

Emma Rigby, known for roles in Hollyoaks, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, and Prisoner's Wives, portrays Andrews. Grant Armour, creator of Suspect: The Road Rage Killer, directs. The film draws on first-hand testimonies, police documentation, archived transcripts, and reconstructed recollections.
