Fans of The Traitors believe they have identified one of the celebrity contestants as a traitor after spotting a clue in the first-look trailer for the upcoming celebrity edition. The BBC show, which returns in October, features a star-studded lineup including Alan Carr, Joe Wilkinson, Kate Garraway, Tom Daley, and Stephen Fry.
In the trailer, comedian Joe Wilkinson is seen talking to YouTuber Niko Omilana, who declares himself a 'Faithful'. Wilkinson responds 'Me too', but viewers noticed he appeared shifty, looking down at his feet while muttering the reply. This has led many to suspect Wilkinson is actually a traitor.
One fan commented on Instagram: 'Joe Wilkinson is definitely a Traitor isn’t he.' However, others have speculated that Niko Omilana might be the traitor, pointing to a scene where he is seen in the castle's turret at night. A fan joked: 'If Niko isn’t a Traitor I will be turning off the TV.'
Fans have also expressed hopes for other celebrities to be traitors, with Alan Carr and Tom Daley among the favourites. One viewer said: 'I hope Tom Daley is a Traitor - would be amazing,' while another suggested that not picking Alan Carr would be 'one hell of a missed opportunity'.
The celebrity lineup also includes Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church, Cat Burns, Ruth Codd, Celia Imrie, Jonathan Ross, Clare Balding, David Olusoga, Joe Marler, Lucy Beaumont, Mark Bonnar, Nick Mohammed, and Tameka Empson.
