Celebrity Traitors cliffhanger: Two faithfuls face banishment

Actress Sharon Rooney and comedian Joanne McNally both face banishment in a nail-biting cliffhanger on Celebrity Traitors. The two faithfuls each received an equal number of votes during the roundtable in Friday's episode, leaving their fates undecided.

In a second round of voting, the final and deciding vote lay with content creator and traitor King Kenny, but the episode concluded before viewers learned who was eliminated from the show. Kenny was granted a double vote at the roundtable after being selected to receive a dagger during the mission, as he was deemed among the most trusted players.

Trusted Players and a Traitor's Kill

The other two players considered the most trusted were traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster. Earlier in the episode, comedian Miranda Hart was killed off by the traitors for being "a good detective."

Discussing the decision to eliminate her, Acaster said: "She's a good detective, she's looking at all of us, she is the most likely to wake up one day and say, 'it's Maya, Kenny and James'." Hart had tentatively raised questions about McNally just hours before learning of her fate.

Miranda Hart's Emotional Reaction

Upon hearing the news, Hart said: "No. Absolutely not. I am so cross with myself, I was wholly focusing on my Joanne issue." She became emotional as she reflected on the experience, saying the show allowed her to "get back and do the thing that I love professionally, and do the things I love personally, wandering round the Scottish Highlands and connecting in nature. There was times I didn't think that would be possible again."

Hart has previously spoken about the fatigue she suffers as a result of her chronic illness, which she has linked to her Lyme disease diagnosis. After learning of her murder, McNally said: "She was really powerful, Miranda was like the mother."

Celebrity Traitors continues on BBC One.
