Coleen Rooney's youngest son, eight-year-old Cass, has kicked off the summer holidays with a bold new look, sporting a haircut inspired by Brazilian football legend Ronaldo's iconic style from the 2002 World Cup.
Cass Rooney's Summer Haircut
Cass, the son of former England footballer Wayne Rooney and TV personality Coleen Rooney, was seen with a shaved head except for a small patch of hair at the front, mimicking the famous 'R9' haircut that Ronaldo wore during the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan. The Brazilian striker, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, famously adopted the unusual style to divert media attention away from his performance on the pitch.
Coleen Rooney shared a photo of Cass on her Instagram story with the caption: "Summer holidays… hairstyle fun!!!" The image showed Cass posing in his football shirt, proudly displaying his new look.
Summer League Victory
In addition to the haircut, Coleen also shared a snap of Cass holding a silver trophy, revealing that he and his team had won their summer league. The post highlighted Cass's growing passion for football, following in the footsteps of his father Wayne, who is Manchester United's all-time leading goalscorer.
Kai Rooney's Manchester United Scholarship
The news comes shortly after Wayne and Coleen expressed joy over their eldest son, Kai, signing a scholarship deal with Manchester United. The 16-year-old, who has been part of the club's youth ranks since the age of 11, officially penned the deal, marking a significant milestone in his football career.
The scholarship allows Kai to continue his studies while pursuing professional football, with the option to sign a contract when he turns 17. As he has already turned 16 before the August 31 cutoff, Kai can no longer play for United's under-16s side and will now move up to higher age groups.
Sponsored Boots Policy
Kai's promotion also ends a club policy that had banned him from wearing his sponsored Puma football boots. Manchester United's academy rules require all players in the U16s or younger to wear the same footwear, regardless of personal sponsorships. Speaking on a podcast last year, Wayne Rooney explained: "He's obviously with Puma but when he plays for Manchester United U16s, something which I really like is he can't wear his Puma boots. All the academy have to wear the same boots. They do it because there's people from areas where they can't afford certain boots, so I think it's really good."
Wayne added that Kai had already played for the U18s a few times, where he was permitted to wear his Puma boots, and praised his son's progress: "He is doing well to be fair to him."
