Brooklyn Beckham Watches World Cup Final at Home in Dig at Dad

Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz watched the FIFA World Cup 2026 final from their home in Los Angeles, making a pointed dig at his parents David and Victoria Beckham, who attended the match live at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The final between Argentina and Spain was a star-studded event, but Brooklyn and Nicola were noticeably absent from the stadium.

Family Feud on Display

David and Victoria Beckham have been attending various World Cup games over the past few weeks, often accompanied by their sons Romeo and Cruz and daughter Harper, along with Romeo and Cruz's girlfriends Jackie Apostel and Kim Turnbull. However, Brooklyn and Nicola were missing from the family outings. Nicola shared a photo on social media of the couple watching the final from their home, a move widely interpreted as a subtle jab at the rest of the Beckham family.

Brooklyn had previously hinted at his absence from the World Cup games in a recent advertisement for DoorDash. In the ad, he joked: "You're probably wondering why I'm watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home... It's a long story." A message then read: "It's complicated. More soon."

Strained Relations

The public display of distance comes amid ongoing tensions between Brooklyn and his parents. Earlier this year, Brooklyn issued a scathing statement accusing David and Victoria of trying to "ruin" his relationship with Nicola. He wrote: "My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress. Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children."

Brooklyn added: "They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since."

Victoria's Response

David and Victoria have not directly responded to Brooklyn's accusations. However, in an interview, Victoria addressed the challenges of parenting in the public eye. She said: "I think that we've always - we love our children so much. We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we've been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that's all I really want to say about it."

When asked if she felt guilt about bringing her family into the spotlight, Victoria added: "I wouldn’t say it comes with guilt, I’d say that there was a lot of adjusting from my mum and dad, when all of a sudden there were paparazzi outside their house. We’ve really taken our families on this ride with us."

World Cup Final Attendance

At the MetLife Stadium, David and Victoria were seen with their family, enjoying prime seats and wearing Beckham 26 football shirts to mark the occasion. The match attracted a host of A-listers, but Brooklyn and Nicola remained in Los Angeles, underscoring the rift within the Beckham family.
