Brooklyn and Nicola Mark Secret Vow Renewal Anniversary

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz marked the one-year anniversary of their secret vow renewal last night, a date they now celebrate as their wedding anniversary, according to reports. The ceremony took place in Westchester, New York, last August and was officiated by Nicola's father, Nelson. The couple have chosen this date over their original April 2022 wedding in Palm Beach, Florida, which they reportedly look back on with negative feelings.

New Memories Over Old

Brooklyn had previously stated in January: "We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment." A source told The Sun that the first wedding was not an occasion they fondly remember, noting that Nicola ended up in tears. The second wedding, attended only by Nicola's family and friends, "does hold so many happy memories" for the couple.

Public Tributes

On August 4, Brooklyn shared a gushing post on Instagram: "Happy anniversary Nicola I can’t tell you how much I love you x you are my best friend and I love you more than life itself xx. I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife xx you are my absolute princess and I promise to always protect you xx." Nicola responded with her own tribute: "Happy anniversary, my love. You make life so beautiful. Thank you for being the most amazing husband I could ever dream of."

Family Estrangement

The celebration follows Brooklyn's scathing January post, where he claimed Victoria danced inappropriately on him at the wedding and there were disagreements over wedding dresses. It was reported that Victoria and David learned of the vow renewal through an American news website, with a source saying, "This was the final kick in the teeth for David and Victoria," adding that seeing Nelson in a pivotal role was heartbreaking for David. Not one of the 30-plus extended family members was invited. The couple also narrowly avoided seeing Brooklyn's estranged parents in St Tropez this week, as they have not met in person since his public rant accusing his family of trying to destroy his marriage and mental health.
