Brazilian Influencer Dies in Crash, Father Takes Own Life at Scene

A Brazilian motorbike influencer has died in a road collision, and her father, a police officer who attended the scene, also lost his life shortly after discovering her body.

Karla Thaynnara, 25, lost control of her motorcycle on Tuesday morning (3 March), striking a car before being thrown into the carriageway, where she was hit by a lorry. Among the officers dispatched was her father, José Carlos Andrade Nogueira, who is reported to have taken his own life upon finding his daughter.

Karla had more than 56,000 followers on Instagram, where she shared snapshots of her daily life, including pictures on motorbikes, at the gym and with her seven-year-old daughter. She worked as a nurse and a consignment dealer at a local motorcycle dealership.

In August last year, she celebrated buying a flat for herself and her daughter, writing: 'It's more than just four walls and a roof – it's proof that dreams really do come true when you refuse to give up on them.' She credited her parents for their support. Karla and her father are due to be laid to rest in Brasília today (4 March). The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
