Binky Felstead on 'great move' to America after UK exit

Made In Chelsea star Binky Felstead has described her family's relocation from London to rural Connecticut as a "great move", saying her children "haven't been happier" since settling across the pond.

Felstead, who married businessman Max Darnton in 2021, moved to the American countryside early last month with her husband and their three children. The couple share sons Wolfie, five, and Wilder, three, while Felstead's daughter India, nine, is from her previous relationship with fellow Made In Chelsea star Josh 'JP' Patterson.

A New Chapter in Connecticut

Opening up about the Stateside move, which she admits involves "plenty of back and forth across the pond for family, friends and work commitments", Felstead says it has been "really special" – especially for the children.

"They haven't been happier," she says. "They're meeting some wonderful new friends and they're loving their new schools. It's been a great move."

Patterson recently flew to the US to spend time with India, with Felstead sharing a snap of him beaming alongside all three children, showing that long-distance co-parenting is working.

Motherhood and Family Life

Reflecting on her life now, Felstead says she is "enjoying my thirties more than my twenties". She adds: "My purpose is my children and my husband. The older you get, the more you know yourself and what you will – and won't – put up with."

The star admits she sometimes struggles to divide her time equally between her children. "With India, she had my undivided attention all the time – she even came to meetings with me. But the more children you have, it feels like the less they get of you," she says.

On the question of more children, Felstead says she is undecided but has always wanted a big family, while Max "would love another boy". India, meanwhile, is hoping for a sister.

Work, Fitness and the Future

Felstead and Darnton, 38, met at Soho Farmhouse in 2019 and married in a civil ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall two years later, before celebrating with a clifftop wedding in Corfu in 2022.

Despite Darnton running his own company with an office in New York, Felstead says he remains hands-on with parenting. "He's always in the city working, but he tries to get back just before bath time," she explains.

Career-wise, Felstead is now working with fashion and interiors brands, including a collaboration with Love & Roses, available exclusively at Next. Referring to her six years on Made In Chelsea, she says: "Some of it was weird and scarring, but a lot of positives came from it."

In 2024, Felstead and fellow MIC stars Rosie Fortescue and Lucy Watson launched a spin-off show, Beyond Chelsea. While a third season seems unlikely given her relocation, she suggests a countryside-set spin-off could be "quite fun".
