Billie Eilish has issued a heartwarming message to her LGBTQ+ fans, urging them to "stay strong" and expressing her deep affection for them. In an interview with Attitude Uncut, the singer-songwriter declared: "I love you so much – stay strong. You mean everything to me. That is my message."
Rise to Fame and Recent Achievements
Billie rose to fame as a teenager and has amassed numerous awards with hits like Bad Guy and Birds of a Feather. Her latest album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, earned her Song of the Year for Wildflower. A concert film, Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), directed by James Cameron, hit cinemas in May.
Personal Life and Coming Out
Billie is currently dating actor Nat Wolff, confirming their relationship at the premiere of her concert film. In December 2023, she came out as queer, telling Variety: "I’m physically attracted to [women]. But I’m also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence." She added, "I’ve never really felt like I could relate to girls very well. I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real."
When discussing public coming out, Billie remarked: "I just don't really believe in it. It's like why can't we just exist? I've been doing this for a long time and I just didn't talk about it, whoops."
Future Plans: Musical Theatre?
Billie has also hinted at what might come next in her career. Speaking with Fleur East on Hits Radio Breakfast, the presenter noted that her tour reminded her of a West End show. Billie responded: "Oh, thank you for saying that. Hell yeah. I mean, maybe someday when I have time to do such a thing (musical), hell yeah, I would love to do that would be pretty crazy."
She elaborated: "I feel like, in a way, I'm like, so, I mean, I grew up as a dancer, so that kind of theatre, bowing to each side... And also love being in plays as a kid and stuff. Like I love that side." Billie also shared her desire for her tour stage to "feel like a playground," saying, "I want to play on the playground. I used to say like, 'Can I have something to climb on?' And that's not as easy as you might think."
