Beverley Callard Denies Ozempic Claims, Credits Fitness for Weight Loss

Coronation Street star Beverley Callard has dismissed rumours linking her recent weight loss to the diabetes drug Ozempic, insisting her transformation is the result of a lifelong commitment to fitness. The 68-year-old actress, best known for playing Liz McDonald on the ITV soap, said she has been 'working her backside off' and that her physique is not due to 'any weight loss jabs'.

In a video shared online, Callard flaunted her figure in black and grey patterned leggings and a matching jacket. She clarified that she 'wouldn't criticise anyone' for using weight loss methods like Ozempic, encouraging people 'to do what they need to do'. Ozempic (semaglutide) is a prescription injectable medication primarily approved for adults with type 2 diabetes, but it has recently become a diet trend.

Callard has built a side career on fitness, having released hugely successful workout videos in the past. After quitting the cobbles, she recently returned to screens in Discovery+'s Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted, where she appeared to be 'possessed by a spirit' during a chilling episode.

The reality series follows a team of paranormal experts as they assist celebrities with strange happenings in their homes. Callard invited the team into her converted barn in Norfolk, which she shares with her husband Jon, after struggling to settle due to potential paranormal activity. She confessed to being frightened to be alone in the house after alarms began sounding in the dead of night and she saw two specks of light in the room.

During a ritual to make contact with spirits, Callard began sweating and trembling. 'I'm absolutely boiling,' she declared, as experts gauged the air temperature around her. When asked if she was alright, she exclaimed, 'Can I run out of here!?' and begged the team to spare her from further experiments. Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted is available to stream on Discovery+.
