Beckham, Berry, Daly Among Celebrities at Wimbledon

Former England football captain Sir David Beckham, former Great British Bake Off judge Dame Mary Berry, and ex-Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly are among the celebrities attending the first day of Wimbledon 2026.

Tess Daly's First Public Appearance Since Split

Daly's appearance at the tennis tournament comes just months after her split from TV and radio presenter Vernon Kay. The 57-year-old wore a white outfit while attending with her friend Gayle Lawton, who also wore white.

David Beckham Amid Family Feud

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid footballer Sir David, 51, watched on just two days after he was spotted watching England against Panama at the World Cup on Saturday, which is currently being held in the US, Canada and Mexico. He wore a grey suit, white shirt and gold tie.

His appearance in the royal box comes amid a feud between he and his wife Lady Victoria Beckham, and their son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, after the latter posted an explosive statement accusing his parents of “trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped”.

He also alleged his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, had been “disrespected” by his family, that his parents controlled narratives in the press about their family and put “Brand Beckham” first. Lady Beckham addressed the feud for the first time in a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, and said she and Sir David “love our children so much” and have “always tried to be the best parents”.

Peltz Beckham, an amateur photographer, recently referred to the feud in a World Cup-themed advert for US food delivery firm DoorDash.

Other Celebrities in Attendance

Dame Mary, 91, wore a light pink dress and white necklace, while other celebrities in attendance included actor Sir Mark Rylance, who was spotted chatting to Dame Mary wearing a grey suit and light hat, and weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, who wore a white dress.

Sir Cliff Richard was also in attendance, wearing a black suit with silver trousers and dark sunglasses, along with Pointless presenter Alexander Armstrong, who wore a blue suit, white shirt and pink tie.

Day One Matches

Monday’s matches at the championship have seen the UK’s Cameron Norrie take on Michael Zheng of the US, and Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia play the UK’s Harriet Dart.
