BBC Radio DJ Fumes as Peter Andre Misses Live Interview

BBC Radio Berkshire presenter Alex Grundon appeared to take a swipe at Peter Andre after the singer failed to show up for a scheduled interview, leaving listeners waiting live on air. The awkward moment unfolded on Saturday morning when Grundon announced that the Mysterious Girl star was expected to join the programme at around 11.09am. By 11.17am, the DJ admitted the team was struggling to get hold of him.

Grundon joked about the differences between everyday life and showbiz, saying: 'In the showbiz world, it is not like that — celebrities just get on with their lives.' He quipped that when 'some oink like Alex' calls, stars are unlikely to drop everything, suggesting Peter could be 'cleaning the loo' or 'washing the car'. He later pleaded: 'Please radio us, page us, text us, send us a carrier pigeon — we would love to hear from you, Peter.'

As listeners sent in supportive messages, Grundon thanked them before delivering a pointed remark: 'It is you that provides the content — thank you so much, because Peter Andre doesn’t, that’s for sure.' However, later in the broadcast, the DJ revealed Peter had been 'found' and would join the show within 30 minutes. Introducing the singer, Grundon joked about putting him 'on a leash', to which Peter replied: 'I apologise, I need it.'

The interview eventually went ahead, with Grundon later gushing that Peter was 'so worth the wait'. This incident comes after Peter Andre admitted to suffering from 'debilitating anxiety', saying he can never rest and his brain is 'always going at a thousand miles an hour'. He was commenting on Declan Donnelly's recent revelation about his own mental health struggles.
